Delete your Kinva account

Kinva is made by MyKinva. This page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data when you do.

Delete it yourself

Open Kinva on the web or in the Android app and go to Settings. Scroll to the Delete Account section, select Delete my account, type DELETE to confirm, then select Permanently delete. Deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone.

Or ask us to do it

Email alex@mykinva.com from the address on your account and say you want it deleted. We’ll confirm once it’s done.

Delete part of your data

You don’t have to close your account to remove something.

To delete a single conversation, open Kinva, open the conversation list, select the ⋮ menu on the conversation, then select Delete and confirm. It’s removed immediately, along with every message in it, its summary, and any notes you saved from it.

To delete a single saved note, open the menu at the bottom of the conversation list, select Notes, then select the × on the note. It’s removed immediately. The conversation it came from is not affected.

To request removal of anything else, email alex@mykinva.com from the address on your account.

What gets deleted

Everything tied to your account:

  • Your account and profile
  • Your survey answers and your match
  • Every conversation and every message in it
  • Conversation summaries
  • Saved notes and clips
  • Any feedback you sent us
  • Analytics events recorded for your account
  • All sign-in links, transfer tokens, and active sessions

Deletion is immediate. There are no backups, so there is no copy to recover from and no retention period after deletion.

What we keep

Nothing of yours stays in Kinva after deletion, and there are no backups to recover from. Two things sit outside our database: server logs, which hold request metadata for about an hour, and any emails we already sent you, which remain with our email provider under their own retention. Neither contains your conversations. Our privacy policy has the full detail.

If you just want to step away

You don’t have to delete your account to stop using Kinva. You can turn Kinva’s emails off in Settings without losing your conversations.
