Your conversations are private. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models. We store your messages so you can access your conversation history. You can delete your data anytime.

What We Collect

  • Account info: Your name and email address
  • Survey responses: Your answers to the matching survey
  • Conversations: Messages between you and your companion
  • Usage data: Usage patterns to understand how people engage with Kinva

How We Use It

  • To match you with the right companion
  • To save your conversation history
  • To improve Kinva based on aggregate, anonymized patterns
  • To respond to support requests

What We Don't Do

  • Sell your data to anyone
  • Share your conversations with advertisers
  • Use your messages to train AI models
  • Read your conversations unless you report a bug or ask for help

A Note on Safety

Kinva is a space for reflection, not a crisis service. Conversations on Kinva are not monitored in real time, and companions are not equipped to respond to emergencies.

Kinva is not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you're navigating something that feels bigger than reflection, we encourage you to connect with a therapist, counselor, or trusted person in your life.

AI Processing

Your messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy. We do not use Anthropic's training features — your conversations are not used to train their models.

Data Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

Your Rights

  • Access: You can view all your data anytime
  • Delete: You can delete your account and all associated data
  • Export: Contact us if you want a copy of your data
