Safety at KINVA
KINVA is an AI thought partner. It is built to help you think — not to diagnose, treat, or replace real support. Knowing what KINVA is and isn't is part of using it well.
What KINVA is for
The middle space. The thinking-out-loud space. The place where you're not in crisis, but you're not sure either — and you need something to think back. Most of what KINVA does is sit with a thought long enough to find out what it actually is.
What KINVA is not for
KINVA is not therapy. It is not a mental health service. It is not a substitute for a therapist, doctor, or anyone trained to help when things are heavy. Your thought partners are AI — they cannot replace a person who can be with you.
If something heavy comes up
If you're having thoughts of suicide or self-harm — or you're worried about someone who is — please reach out to someone who can help. In the U.S.:
- 988 — call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7
- Crisis Text Line — text HOME to 741741
- 911 — for immediate emergency
When KINVA detects signals of crisis in a conversation, your thought partner is built to step out of normal conversation, name what it's noticing, and point you toward these resources. It will not try to handle a crisis on its own.
